Vinyasa flow is a dynamic, flowing style of yoga. Vinyasa means ‘to place in a special way’ meaning the postures are sequenced in a particular order to strengthen and open different parts of the body. As a style it is often based around surya namaskar (sun salutations). We use the breath to help to make the practice a ‘moving meditation’ allowing you to leave feeling refreshed and relaxed. Regular practice will help you develop core strength, flexibility (you don’t need to be flexible before you start, that comes with practice) and balance. Practice also helps develop concentration, a calm mind and a greater sense of well-being. I give detailed instructions on alignment for each posture with variations so each student can practise at their own level and progress as they are ready. Beginners are welcome as are those with a more advanced practice.
